Five fraternities and sororities comprise the Fraternity and Sorority Life community at Washington College. Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Omicron Pi and Zeta Tau Alpha make up the sororities 在校园. Phi Delta Theta and Kappa Sigma make up the fraternities 在校园.

Continuous Sorority 招聘
In 2023 Washcington College's Panhellenic Councle voted to change the way chapters recruit and adopt the continuous recruitment style. During continuous recruitment, interested women have the freedom to choose which events they would like to attend hosted by each sorority. Then membership bids are formally offered. 如果你收到 a bid, you may choose to accept, defer, or decline membership. Bids will be offered throughout the semester.
Primary Fraternity 招聘

Hazing is prohibited per the College Honor Code, national fraternity/sorority headquarters policy, and Maryland state law. Consent to hazing is not an acceptable justification 或者法律辩护.
Washington College seeks to promote a safe and secure environment where the rights and dignity of all community members are respected. New and initiated chapter members are provided with relevant hazing information and educational resources to eliminate 它的做法.

If I am a legacy to a sorority or fraternity, is there anything special I should know?
Each potential new member is considered on an individual basis; legacies are no more obligated to join a particular sorority than the sorority is obligated to pledge her. The potential new member and the sorority are looking for happiness and compatibility, not a family connection to the group. You will also be able to indicate your legacy status when you register.
As a parent, it’s important to learn about the fraternities and sororities of interest to your child in order to help your child make the best decision when she enters into the Greek community. The following information should provide you with a better understanding of the sororities on the Washington College campus.
